About the CPDV Translation
The Catholic Public Domain Version (CPDV) is a modern English translation of the Sacred Scriptures, translated directly from the Latin Vulgate Bible using the Challoner Douay-Rheims version as a guide. Completed by Ronald L. Conte Jr. in 2009, this edition preserves traditional Catholic theology, liturgical phrasing, and full canon integrity—including all 73 books of the Catholic biblical canon (Old Testament, Deuterocanonical books, and New Testament)—while remaining completely free from copyright restrictions.
