FaceRank is a simple popularity-voting app. You see two photos and pick the one you like. That's it.

■ How it works
Tap the photo you prefer. Your vote is recorded instantly and the next pair appears. No complicated steps.

■ Join in yourself
Add your own photo and other users will start voting on it. See exactly where you rank - today, this week, this month, and all time.

■ Your pets can join too
There are categories for cats and dogs. Add a photo and a name, and see how your pet does against others. People and pets are ranked separately, so cats compete with cats and dogs with dogs.

■ How ranking works
FaceRank uses the Elo rating system, the same idea used in chess. Beating a highly rated entry moves you up a lot; beating a lower rated one moves you up a little. Because it isn't a raw vote count, you can still climb to the top after joining late.

■ Built to feel safe
- Only photos of yourself or your own pets may be posted
- Long-press any photo to report it
- Pause your entry from voting at any time
- Delete your account and photos completely, from inside the app

■ Pricing
The free plan includes 30 votes per day. If you want to keep voting, you can subscribe to Premium for unlimited voting or buy a pack of extra votes. Browsing rankings, adding or changing photos, and checking your own rank are always free.

What’s new

■ Groups
Rank each other privately with people you invite. Create or join a group from My Page and invite with a link. Votes in a group do not affect the global ranking.

■ Age group and country
People are matched and ranked within the same country and age group. The range widens automatically when there are few candidates.

■ Voting
The same pair is shown until you vote. A photo you report is no longer shown to you.
