About this app

Locate Purple Air sensors important to you, and add them to your watch list. Once a sensor is in your watch list, you can set alerts and receive push messages when air quality reported by the sensor crosses key thresholds, or get notified when a sensor goes offline.

The Purple Air "community scientist" sensor network provides data about air quality to researchers and the public. Using AQ Alert, you can stay updated without checking the Purple Air map.
Get notified for hyper-local changes to air quality, as reported by Purple Air.

Good idea, but not accurate. I don't know where it's getting it's information. I have it synced to the monitor on my house and this app can say it's 43, but looking at the same monitor on Purple Air's app, it says 65. It keeps sending me alerts that the AQI drops below 50, but in reality the monitor hasn't dropped below 50 all day.

Thanks for trying my app! I've investigated this accuracy issue, and plan to fix it. Purple air changed how they calculate US AQI to match updates the US EPA made. If you change the metric on the Purple Air map to "US EPA PM2.5 (Pre 2024) (AQI)", the value should match what this app reports. Email me at support@aq-alert.com for more details.

App has really improved with recent updates. I really like that I can set custom alert thresholds for each sensor that I'm following. Now, since I own a Purple Air sensor, I receive an alert on my phone as soon as my neighbor starts barbecuing and I can go close the windows before I even start to smell it. As a person with asthma, I think this will be a wildfire season game changer for me next summer! Looking forward to breathing easier with real-time alerts to open and close the windows.

Does exactly what it says: speedy alerts for high pollution using PurpleAir data, from your own sensor and/or others. Quickly access your data whenever you want to. Follow its link to PurpleAir map at your chosen location without having to scroll on PurpleAir site.
