About this app

Super Sync copies the folders on your phone to a server that you own: a NAS at home with SFTP, a Nextcloud or ownCloud server, any WebDAV server, an FTP server or web hosting, a shared folder on a Windows PC, a Mac, a NAS or an Unraid server, or any computer with SSH. You can also use your own OneDrive or Dropbox. Your files go only to your server, your OneDrive or your Dropbox. Super Sync has no account, no cloud of its own and no tracking.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Add your server one time. For SFTP, log in with a password or an SSH key (you can make a new key on the phone). For Nextcloud and ownCloud, use an app password. For OneDrive, sign in with Microsoft in the browser. For Dropbox, sign in with Dropbox in the browser.
2. Make a job: select a phone folder, such as Camera, Documents, Download or WhatsApp Media, and a folder on the server.
3. Select how the job syncs. Super Sync does the rest.

THREE WAYS TO SYNC
• One-time sync: copy a folder to the server one time.
• One-way sync: send new and changed phone files to the server on a schedule. Files you delete on the phone stay on the server as a backup, unless you turn on "Delete on server when deleted on phone".
• Two-way sync: keep the phone folder and the server folder the same. If a file changes on both sides, Super Sync keeps both versions.

YOUR FILES ARE SAFE
• The first time you connect, you approve the SSH server key, or a self-made HTTPS certificate. If it changes later, Super Sync stops and asks you.
• Passwords, keys and the OneDrive and Dropbox sign-in tokens are encrypted on the phone with the Android Keystore.
• If a sync would delete many files, for example because a server disk is not mounted, Super Sync stops and shows you the files first.
• Each file is copied to a temporary name and renamed only when it is complete. On OneDrive and Dropbox, a file appears only when its upload is complete, and the old version stays in the version history.

SCHEDULES AND CONDITIONS
• Run every 15 minutes, every hour, every day or every week.
• Run only on Wi-Fi, only when charging, or not below a battery level.
• Run only on the Wi-Fi networks you choose, such as home or the office.

DESTINATIONS
• SFTP: any NAS or computer with SSH.
• WebDAV, with Nextcloud and ownCloud: HTTPS, also with a certificate you made yourself. Plain HTTP only on your home network.
• FTP and FTPS: your NAS or your web hosting account. FTPS by default. Plain FTP only after a clear warning.
• SMB: a shared folder on a Windows PC, a Mac, a Linux server (Samba), a NAS or an Unraid server. The app signs the messages and asks for encryption.
• OneDrive: a personal OneDrive or a OneDrive for work or school. Sign in with Microsoft. Super Sync does not see your password. Deleted files go to the OneDrive recycle bin.
• Dropbox: a personal Dropbox, or a member account of a Dropbox team. Sign in with Dropbox. Super Sync does not see your password. Deleted files go to the deleted files of your Dropbox, where you can restore them for at least 30 days.

PERMISSIONS
• All files access: to read the folders you back up and to write files back for two-way sync.
• Location: Super Sync collects location data to enable "Only on these Wi-Fi networks" for your backup jobs, even when the app is closed or not in use. Android gives the Wi-Fi network name only to apps with location access. The app reads the name on the phone, so that a backup job starts only on a network that you chose. The location data stays on the phone. It is not stored, sent or shared. The app asks for location only if you use this setting.
• Notifications: to show sync progress and problems.

What’s new

• New destinations: OneDrive and Dropbox.
• OneDrive and Dropbox uploads are more reliable after a lost connection.
• New job: "Only on these Wi-Fi networks" is now in step 4 of a scheduled job. A job can run only on your home or office Wi-Fi.
• Before Super Sync asks for location, it explains why: Android gives the Wi-Fi network name only to apps with location access. The location data stays on your phone.
