BIBLE STUDY TOOLS
Highlight verses in four colors. Attach a note to any verse and write as much as you need, with no length limit. Bookmark the passages you keep returning to. Copy a verse to share it however you like.
SEARCH THE WHOLE BIBLE
Full-text search runs across the entire Bible in an instant. Narrow it to the Old Testament, the New Testament or only the book you have open.
READ COMFORTABLY
Three themes: light, sepia and a genuine dark mode for reading at night without glare. Set the type size and line spacing until the page sits right for your eyes. Switch between flowing paragraphs and a verse-by-verse layout. Footnotes and section headings are there when you want them and out of the way when you don't. The app remembers exactly where you stopped.
SYNC ONLY IF YOU WANT TO
Every single feature works without an account. Nothing is locked, nothing is nagged. If you would like your highlights, notes and bookmarks to follow you to a second device, sign in and they will. Sign out and everything stays on your phone.
FREE, WITH ONE SMALL BANNER
Codex Bible is free, supported by one small banner at the bottom of the reader and an occasional full-screen ad when you turn chapters. A one-time purchase removes every ad, forever. What you read, highlight and note stays on your device and is never sold.
ABOUT THE TEXTS
Every included translation is in the public domain or distributed under a license permitting free use. Sources and licenses are listed in Settings.
