Bodhi is a path to Buddhism for those who know nothing about it. Like a language app, but focused on the mind: short lessons, practice, a streak—and in a couple of weeks you understand what they talk about in the temple and why you even sit with your eyes closed.
FIVE-MINUTE LESSONS
What Buddhism is and what it is not. Who is Siddhartha? The Three Jewels. The Four Noble Truths—not as dogma, but as diagnosis, cause, prognosis, and treatment. Then comes the Eightfold Path, meditation, and ethics. Each lesson includes two or three flashcards, a Pali term, a quote, and assignments.
THINK-PROVOKING ASSIGNMENTS
Multiple answers, true or false, arrange in order, match pairs—and questions for reflection that don't have a correct answer. A mistake isn't a failure: we'll return to it at the end of the lesson.
PRACTICE
Four types of meditation: breathing, body scan, metta (kindness), and open attention. From one to twenty minutes. A silent timer, breathing rhythm, and short prompts on what to do when the mind wanders—and it will.
STREAK, LEVELS, ACHIEVEMENTS
Daily goal: 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Streaks are counted daily, with a time limit of one missed streak. Levels from Seeker to Refuge, ten achievements, and weekly statistics.
REMINDERS WITHOUT WHIMMING
One in the morning and one in the evening—only if a streak is imminent. With humor and without manipulation: "Buddha sat under a tree for 49 days. You are asked to sit on a chair for three minutes."
SECURE TONE
No mysticism or school of thought is the priority. Buddhism here is a set of observations about the mind and practices that you are invited to experience for yourself. Suitable for those simply interested and those who want to start mindful meditation.
