Walkmapper is a mobile app for reporting pedestrian street and sidewalk problems with photos and location.
What you can do in the app:
• Take a photo of a street, curb, sidewalk, or crossing problem
• Choose from many report categories and visual symbols
• Confirm the exact location on a map
• Save multiple photos while walking, then file them later
• Submit reports to selected recipients, including NYC 311 and local contacts
• Track complaint status and resend reports if needed
CITY agencies only provide a reference number and a status. Complaints can be easily resent, to ensure that City agencies will respond, thus increasing the chances to get a resolution. Walkmapper DOES NOT REPRESENT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY.
Walkmapper also has a related web tool for reviewing complaint aging, viewing nearby complaints on a map, and downloading complaint data for street audits.
IMPORTANT: Walkmapper is an independent civic reporting tool. It is NOT an official City of New York app, NOT an NYC 311 app, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency.
