coil shows you a book one word at a time, with each word held still in the centre of the screen, so your eyes can rest while the story comes to you. Behind every word is a place that reads along with you. The sky darkens when the passage does, frost forms on the glass in a cold chapter, and a storm gathers as the tension rises.

Read for a few minutes before sleep or for an hour on the train, at whatever pace suits you.

NEW: BUBBLES, AND A SPEED FOR EVERY READER
• Bubbles, a new font: every letter is a soap bubble. The line drifts along as you read, and when you pause you can tap a word to pop it. It works on any background.
• Reading speed now goes all the way down to one word a minute, for children and anyone just starting out, and up to a thousand.
• Hear the words you're learning: tap a word in your list to hear it, or have each one said aloud as it comes past.
• Zellige, a new place: a glazed tile mosaic that breathes like a kaleidoscope.

READING THAT FEELS NATURAL
• Each word is anchored on one amber letter, so your eye always knows where to land.
• The pace follows the sentence. It eases in at the start of a sitting, takes a breath at the end of a long phrase, and leaves a moment of stillness after a heavy passage and at the end of each chapter.
• Pause any time, and the line stays exactly where you left it. Swipe to step back a sentence, or open the surrounding text to look around.
