Stopping hackers pays you nothing. Interest does.
Coin Defense is a one-hand, portrait tower defense game about holding a crypto exchange against hackers. You start a run with a fixed pile of coins, and that pile is everything at once: your build budget, your health bar and your final score. Spend it on defense and it stops compounding. Sit on it and the hackers walk off with it.
HOLD 10 WAVES
Script Kiddies, Botnets, Ransomware and the Wave 10 boss, Black Hat, walk a single winding path across a 7x7 board, from the open internet to your exchange. Hold all ten waves and the run is a win.
INTEREST IS YOUR ONLY INCOME
No bounties, no coin drops. At the end of every wave the exchange pays 10% interest on whatever coins are still in it. Every coin you spend on security is a coin that stops earning — and that single rule is the whole game.
ONE UNIT, NO TAKE-BACKS
There is one defense: a security team. Tap an empty tile to place it, and it stays there — no selling, no moving. Each new team costs 12% more than the last, so you cannot simply flood the board. Once every tile is taken a new layer opens on top: tap a full tile and another team stacks onto it, multiplying that tile's firepower. A layer only opens when the one below it is completely filled, so you can never just pile everything onto your favorite corner. Upgrades are org-wide instead of per-tile: raise your Security Level and every team on the board gets stronger at once, with no cap and a cost that climbs 1.5x per step. Go wide, go deep, or go tall — every single wave.
THEY STEAL, THEN THEY RUN
There are no lives. A hacker that reaches the exchange grabs a set amount of coins and turns around for the exit — and if your teams shut it down before it gets there, you get every coin back. Let it escape and the coins are gone, and it comes straight back for more. If the vault is too thin to cover a theft, they take only what is left; your teams stay on the board either way. The run is over the moment the exchange is empty.
A LEVEL THAT MOVES BOTH WAYS
Clear a run and you level up: hackers gain health, and your starting coins grow with you. Thefts follow those starting coins rather than your level, so one breach always costs the same share of the wallet you brought. How far you climb is set by what is still in the vault when the tenth wave falls: scrape through and it is one level, but hold half your wallet or more and you jump several at once, with no cap on the climb. Lose and you drop by how long you lasted — crumble in the opening waves and it is three levels, hold to the very end and it is one. Quitting a run mid-way counts as a loss and is scored by the wave you reached, so there is no backing out of a bad board. Difficulty and reward both scale by multipliers, so the squeeze at Level 100 feels the same as at Level 5 — once you reach the level you can actually hold, you trade wins and losses and creep upward from there.
NO SURPRISES, ONLY DECISIONS
The intruder codex sits on screen all run long and tells you exactly what the next wave brings and how many of each — the counts are shuffled every run, but never hidden. Read it during the prep timer, then commit. Run the wave at 1x, 2x or 3x speed whenever you like.
WHAT'S IN IT
- No in-app purchases, no paywalls — there is nothing to buy
- Ads are opt-in where they count: watch one for a 20% starting-coin bonus, or to undo a demotion after a loss. A short ad also plays between runs every few games
- Plays offline — only the ads need a connection
- Optional Google Play Games leaderboard for your highest level
- No account needed — progress is saved on your device, and signing in to Google Play Games backs it up so reinstalling picks up where you left off. If the device and the account each hold a run of their own, the game lays both out and you choose which one to carry on
- English and Korean
- Small download: every graphic is drawn in code, not shipped as art files
Your coins are your health, your budget and your score. Spend them wisely.
