Pulpo SVG is an Inkscape-compatible SVG editor for working on your projects away from your desk.

WHY PROJECT-ORIENTED?

Projects often have many SVG files sharing templates, linked images, symbols, palettes, fonts and effects. Mount your project folder and work on its files without breaking Inkscape links.

IT KEEPS WHAT YOU ALREADY MADE

Pulpo SVG preserves SVG content it does not understand and rewrites only what you change. Layers, labels, node types, gradients and units survive the round trip to your phone.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Open and save SVG files, including through Android's “Open with”
• Use symbols embedded in an SVG or shared through your project's symbols folder
• Browse, search or delete files in a mounted project folder
• Edit paths node by node — on several paths at once — with tap-to-add nodes, the pen, magnetic snapping and Inkscape's node types
• Combine shapes with the six path operations Inkscape has — union, difference, intersection, exclusion, division and cut path — keeping your curves as curves
• Build combined objects with holes: combine paths into one and reverse the direction of the inner piece, the way Inkscape does it
• Move, rotate, scale, align and distribute, with guides that snap
• Place images from your device: embed them in the document, or link them from your project folder
• Paste what you copied in another app, right next to the usual paste: an image comes in embedded, and copied text comes in as text
• Edit regular and auto-wrapped Inkscape text, including its box width, size, letter spacing and line spacing, with honest font substitution
• Save font files in your project's fonts folder from the Text panel, ready to install on your computer and use in Inkscape
• Fill and stroke with gradients, edited directly on the canvas
• Export to PNG and JPEG at the dpi and the physical size you need — the whole document or just what you selected — into any folder on your device
• Undo history and automatic recovery of unsaved work
• An optional zoom slider, so you can zoom without pinching when you draw with a stylus
• A zoom tool: drag a box over the detail you want and it fills the screen, no pinching your way there
• Work on Inkscape multi-page documents: every page with its frame and name, add, rename and remove pages, and export one page or all of them, one file each
• Connect a mounted project to GitHub — a folder you already cloned — to review changes, commit, push and pull safely, with the folder’s own Git kept up to date

The free version is a real editor: open, edit and save your SVG files, with no watermark and no time limit, with up to two documents open at a time.

NO TRACKING, NO ADS

There is no Pulpo account, analytics or advertising. Everything stays on your device unless you explicitly connect GitHub; then only the project changes you choose are sent to the repository you linked. The GitHub credential is encrypted by Android and never stored in the project.
