Ever wondered what the name for that color is? Or wanted a set of colors that could be described as 'dusty'?

Color Namer lets you name colors in the world around you using your camera. You can also explore the whole named colorspace with a color picker, search through color names, and find names for hex values.

The named colors in the app were taken from the results of the XKCD color survey: xkcd.com/color/rgb/. This huge survey asked real people to name swatches of colors. After some data processing by XKCD, the survey resulted in some pretty funny color names, like "ugly purple", "boring green", "vomit yellow" and "barney".

I've used it for 2,3 years now? pretty good. Does exactly what it advertises and I like the little colours library, scrolling through it and reading their names. And the palette too, stumbling on a random colour and learning its name. it's simple and efficient.

It works. No ads. Useful for getting quick colour codes and a worthwhile use for a bixby button in place of bixby! Not updated to work on my new phone, android 15, so sad. Will always be 5 stars though! New phone, doesn't work, please fix 🙏 nothing phone 2 on android 16

I don't know why but this can only pick color from a camera? I want to use this app for pictures from my gallery.
