ArcHive is a viewer app that lets you set up your own personal bookshelf server on your home PC and read scanned books and PDFs from your smartphone while you're out.
■ What you can do
- Display your home PC's bookshelf folders directly as the app's bookshelf
- Access your home PC directly from anywhere and continue reading from where you left off
- Record reading history and progress (which books you've read and how many pages)
- Switch between two-page spread view and single-page view
- Switch between right-to-left and left-to-right binding (supports comics and foreign books)
- Easily correct spread misalignment with "shift one page"
- Magnifying glass function that allows you to zoom in by long-pressing the screen
- Quickly move to the previous or next volume in a series
■ Your home files become your bookshelf
This app does not upload books to the developer's server.
The server software (ArcHive server, distributed free of charge) installed on the user's home PC scans the specified folder, and the smartphone app connects directly to that PC to read the images.
You can use it as a bookshelf for not only your self-scanned manga, but also PDF documents for work.
■ Connection Methods
・Direct connection via the same network within your home Wi-Fi network.
・Direct connection to your home PC (high speed) if you are in an IPv6-compatible environment when you are away from home.
・In other environments, connect to your home PC via WebRTC P2P communication.
In either method, files will not be saved on any server other than your home PC.
■ Security
・Registration of new devices (initial pairing) is only possible from within your home network.
・A unique authentication token is used for each device for connection.
・Communication is always encrypted (TLS / WebRTC uses DTLS/SRTP).
・You can approve or revoke connections at any time from the "Device Management" screen on your PC.
■ Notes on Use
・To use this service, you need to have the ArcHive server software (free) running on your home PC.
You cannot access it from outside your home while your PC is powered off or the software is closed.
・This application is a tool intended for personal use. Depending on the operating environment and network conditions,
the connection method may not be available.
