The Municipality of Kalymnos implemented the project “Virtual and Augmented Reality Applications for the promotion of the cultural and touristic heritage of Kalymnos”.

Objectives of the project, the promotion of the archaeological and cultural heritage of Kalymnos, the upgrading of the provided tourist services and the utilization of modern tools such as the development of digital interactive applications of augmented/virtual reality and the use of artificial intelligence to achieve the above.

*The writing and documentation of the texts for the monuments, archaeological sites and the Archaeological Museum of Kalymnos, as well as the control of the relevant material necessary for the implementation of the project was carried out by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Dodecanese.

The direct beneficiaries of the implementation of the project are the population of the Municipality and the entire population of visitors to the island. The benefits for the citizens will be immediate as the applications will function as a tool for the cultural promotion of the island and the provision of better value tourism services to visitors.

The Project is co-financed by Greece and the European Union within the framework of the OP South Aegean by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
