About this app

Branchward teaches Git the way it finally makes sense: you type commands and watch the commit graph respond, live, so the abstract model of branches and merges turns into something you can actually see moving. Instead of memorizing commands and hoping, you run them in a safe sandbox and watch commits appear, branches split off, and histories join back together.

It's built as a real course with a real engine underneath. A simulated Git model responds to the core commands — commit, branch, checkout, merge, reset, and more — drawing the result as a clean node-and-edge graph where every commit, branch pointer, and HEAD is right there in front of you. A structured set of lessons walks you from your first commit through branching, merging, handling divergent histories, and undoing mistakes, each with a plain-language explanation and a hands-on task: run the right commands to reach a goal state, and the app checks you got there. A free-form playground lets you experiment with any sequence of commands and instantly see what it does to the graph, so the consequences of a rebase or a reset become obvious rather than scary.

Because you learn by watching the graph react, the mental model sticks — and a reference keeps the key commands and what they do a tap away.

Everything runs on your device: no account, no connection, no ads. Just commands, the graph, and Git that finally clicks.
Learn Git by running commands and watching the commit graph react in real time.
