One book, start to finish.
Memorize Proverbs helps you commit all thirty-one chapters of the book of Proverbs to memory, word for word, in the New American Standard Bible — NASB 1995. Every passage is narrated, so you can work on it with your hands full and your eyes closed.
I built it for my own family. For years I prayed the prayer in James 1:5, asking God for wisdom, because His word says He gives it generously. The answer I got was simple: you want wisdom — memorize Proverbs. I put it in that book for you. When I went looking for a tool, every app I found was an empty container you pour your own verses into. I wanted the opposite.
BUILT AROUND THE BOOK'S OWN STRUCTURE
• 165 passages, not arbitrary chunks. The book is divided along the NASB's own section headings, so you learn it in the units it was edited into.
• Narrated end to end. Every passage read aloud, with the words lighting up as they are read. Two narrators to choose between.
• A chapter a day, matched to the date. Proverbs has thirty-one chapters and the month has thirty-one days. On the 14th you drill chapter 14 — the oldest reading plan there is — and the app keeps your streak on it.
• Three rounds of fill-in-the-blank. The easy words go first, then the words that carry the meaning, then the ones you have to reach for. Together they cover the whole passage exactly once.
• It grades itself, and says why. The app counts what you revealed and what took more than one try, then tells you plainly what the run cost.
• Room to write. Keep dated notes on any passage as you work through it.
WHAT IT ISN'T
• No price, no subscription, no in-app purchases
• No advertising
• No account to create, no sign-in
• No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind
• No internet connection required — the text and every recording are inside the app
There is no verse library here, no way to add other passages, and no plan to expand to other books. It does one thing.
31 chapters. 915 verses. 165 passages.
