Complete garbage. I got through the setup issues, and the app is apparently connecting to the device, but the data is often missing or wrong. Recirculation claims to be inactive. It's unclear what some of the controls do. For instance, there's a toggle labeled, "Tankless Power," with no explanation. Sure, I want tankless power. Or do I? Unfortunately, I bought the WiFi module mainly hoping to get more insight into or control over the recirculation process, which has been a nightmare...

Rinnai managed to do it again, and by that I mean break everything. I had trouble with the old app not connecting and had to contact support to get a wifi module with the updated firmware. After that I was able to connect and everything was fine until now. I was told I needed to update my firmware and switch to this new app. The old app fails to install the updated firmware. This app gets to step 2 when installing new firmware and just spins forever. I'm back to having a non working wifi module.

The lack of responsiveness in the UI for setting the temperature makes the app effectively useless. This is probably the *one thing* you care about using, and it mostly doesn't work at all. There are other good water heaters out there, whose apps tend not to suck as bad as this one; you should consider buying one of those. Rinnai is clearly not interested in investing in WiFi module and app software that work. It's embarrassing how bad this is.
