ChainSnake is a daily word puzzle with a twist: the answer is hidden as a winding chain of letters, and it is up to you to find the path.
Every puzzle starts as a grid of letters that looks like noise. Somewhere inside it, a famous quote is spelled out cell by cell along a snaking path. Drag your finger from letter to adjacent letter to trace the chain, and the hidden line reveals itself as you go. Then comes the bonus round — you have found the words, but can you name who said them?
It is a word game and a quiz in one, and it takes about five minutes a day.
HOW TO PLAY
• Look for the chain of letters hiding in the grid
• Drag from letter to adjacent letter to trace the path
• Watch the trail light up as the hidden line appears
• Finish the chain, then answer the bonus question
• Come back tomorrow for a new daily puzzle
FOUR CATEGORIES, 800 PUZZLES
• Literary Quotes — trace the line, then name the author. Shakespeare, Austen, Orwell and more.
• Movie Quotes — find the famous line, then guess which film it came from.
• Football Squads — uncover a national team's players, then name the country.
• Cities by Country — trace a run of cities, then work out where in the world they are.
Pick the category you love, or work through all four. Every category has its own puzzle for every day.
THREE DIFFICULTY MODES, EARN YOUR STARS
• Difficult — nothing but the grid. Solve it clean and earn 3 stars.
• Medium — the start and end of the chain are marked. Worth 2 stars.
• Easy — the answer is filled in for you. Worth 1 star.
The stars are scored against the easiest mode you switched on, so a clean solve really is a clean solve. Play honest and the score means something.
BUILD YOUR STREAK
Solve the daily word puzzle each day to build a streak. Track your solve times with the optional timer, keep a full history of every puzzle you have finished, and see your stats build up over the weeks.
SHARE YOUR SOLVE
Finished a tough one? Generate a picture of your completed grid and share it with friends — without spoiling the answer for them.
