A training timer you never have to look at while you play
With a paddle in your hand, you can't keep checking your phone. PingTimer runs your routine for you, such as 3 minutes of forehand counter, 3 minutes of backhand push and 1 minute of rest, and announces every segment change with beeps and voice. Leave your phone by the table and keep your eyes on the ball.
[ Ready-to-go training presets ]
• Fundamentals: forehand counter, backhand push, FH/BH switch
• Loop Drive Focus: forehand and backhand loops repeated in sets
• Footwork Training: 2-point footwork, Falkenberg, random footwork
• Shadow Play: swing practice to a tempo beat
• Serve & Receive: backspin, sidespin and long serves, practiced by count
• Multiball Training: 8 sets of 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off
• Warm-up & Cool-down: get loose before and wind down after
Duplicate any preset and adjust it to the way you train.
[ Build your own routines ]
Chain warm-up, drill, rest and cool-down segments in any order you like. Give each segment a duration (min:sec) or a rep count, and set the number of sets and the rest between sets. Drag to reorder, and color-code segments so you can tell them apart at a glance.
[ Tempo beat ]
Turn on a metronome for any segment to match your shadow play or rally rhythm. Choose from 40 to 120 BPM, with an optional accent on every fourth beat.
[ Direction callouts for reaction training ]
PingTimer calls out "Fore!", "Back!", "Middle!" and more, at random or in a set pattern. Move to each call and sharpen your footwork reactions. You pick the interval and the directions, and the app keeps the same direction from repeating too often.
[ Segments that end by count, not time ]
For segments set by reps, like 30 serves, count each one with a big tap on the screen or a press of the volume key. Hit the target and a completion sound plays as the next segment begins.
[ A run screen you can read from a distance ]
Big numbers, a progress ring and a preview of the next segment stay readable from 1 to 2 meters away beside the table. Works in both portrait and landscape, and the screen stays on while the timer runs. Jump to the previous or next segment, or add 30 seconds, with a single tap.
[ Sound and voice guidance ]
• Voice announcements at the start of each segment, like "Backhand loop, 2 minutes"
• 3, 2, 1 beeps before a segment ends, plus a get-ready countdown
• Optional halfway alert and "10 seconds left" announcement
• Music volume lowers automatically so you can hear cues while you listen to music
• Separate volume settings for beeps, voice, vibration, sound effects and the metronome
[ Keeps running with the screen off ]
Turn off the screen or switch to another app, and the timer and sounds carry on accurately. Check the remaining time in the notification and tap pause, next segment or stop right from there.
[ Your training history ]
See the days you trained on weekly and monthly bar charts and a calendar. This week's training time, session count and training streak are all visible at a glance.
[ Daily practice reminder ]
Pick a time, and you'll get a practice reminder at that time every day.
