About this app

Tap two frames of a video. That's it. How fast is your serve?

No radar gun needed. One smartphone video is all it takes to measure your serve speed. Tap the moment the ball meets the racket (impact) and the moment it hits the court (bounce), and ServeSpeed calculates the speed from the frame gap, the video's fps and standard court distances.

■ Record it, or pick it from your gallery

Record right in the app or choose a video you've already shot. Videos taken in your camera app's slow-motion mode (120 or 240 fps) have more frames, so the result is more accurate.

■ Frame-accurate marking

Get close with the slider, then nail the exact moment with the ±1 frame buttons or by dragging left and right. Mark the impact, then the bounce, and the result appears right away. The recording fps of slow-motion videos is read automatically; if it can't be read, enter it yourself or fix it in Settings.

■ Three camera angles

Choose the angle closest to where your camera was: behind the baseline, side view or diagonal. Speed is calculated with the standard court distance for that angle, and icons with short descriptions help you pick the right one.

■ Every result, with the numbers behind it

You get more than a speed. Frames elapsed, time elapsed, video fps and the reference distance are shown alongside it, so you know exactly where the number came from. Choose km/h or mph.

■ Log 1st / 2nd serves and in / out

When saving a result, note whether it was a 1st or 2nd serve and whether it landed in or out. The serve type option can be turned off in Settings.

■ Best speed, average speed, in rate

Home shows today's best, your all-time best, a summary of your latest session and an average speed trend graph at a glance. The Records tab lists every serve by date, with 7-day, 30-day and all-time stats, in rate by serve type and a summary of each session. Practice sessions are grouped automatically by time gap.

■ Daily practice reminder

A gentle nudge to practice your serve at the time you choose. Change the time whenever you like, or turn it off.

■ Light and dark themes

Follow your system setting or pick light or dark yourself.

■ Remove ads

A one-time purchase removes banner and full-screen ads for good. Not a subscription.

Results are for reference only and may differ from a radar gun. Accuracy depends on the camera angle, how precisely you mark the frames and the video's fps.
