ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE

Dam It! uses Android's AccessibilityService API to deliver its core feature: detecting and blocking short-form video content to help you overcome doomscrolling.

What it does:
The Accessibility Service monitors which app is in the foreground and detects when short-form video components - such as Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts - are being displayed. When detected, it triggers Dam It!'s "Invisible Dam" and overlays a block screen.

Why it's necessary:
This is the only technical method available on Android to distinguish between regular social media use and short-form video scrolling - without requiring you to manually toggle the app on and off every time.

Your privacy is guaranteed:
Dam It! does not collect, store, or transmit any data through the AccessibilityService API. No personal information, messages, notifications, or browsing activity ever leaves your device. All processing happens locally and securely, on-device only.
