Downloaded this app at a friend's suggestion. We plan to travel to India and want to be able to experience what a local host and tour guide could offer. Immediately, you have to choose whether to pay for monthly ($2) or yearly ($14) access. After that, they practically demand you get verified, which costs either another $60 or you have to host a traveler for temporary verification. They discourage accepting non-verified travelers WITHIN THE APP, leaving you pretty much no choice. Hard pass.

Not really my favorite experience. There isn't a good "social networking" vibe on the app. For example, finding the person I'm standing next to is near impossible - this gets in the way of our conversation and reduces the number of friends I have on the app. Also, events disappear as soon as they are over which makes it impossible to reconnect with people I forgot to share contact info with. All in all, not a joy to use. Hopeful for the future ☺️

This app is just rubbish! I've been on this app for several weeks. I've sent requests after requests and all have been declined except for one. I was grateful for my first and probably last CS stay. I don't know why people decline, saying they're not available because they are out of town, yet when you go through the filters and choose ONLY ACCEPTING, all are under that. If they are "not available" then change your status or whatever it's called to NOT ACCEPTING. What a waste of time!

We're sorry to hear you're having a hard time finding a host. People find hosts quickest if they use search filters to narrow down their search, and write personalized couch requests that let their hosts know why they want to meet them. You can also create a public trip so hosts know that you are coming to their location and can offer to host you.
