About this app

Are your notifications arriving late, or not at all? You're not alone.

Android uses a system called Doze to save battery by putting your phone to sleep when you're not using it. The problem is that Doze also holds back notifications. Messages, emails, smart home and security camera alerts, and delivery updates can all sit waiting until you next pick up your phone.

DozeOff fixes that, and it gives you two ways to do it.

MAX MODE

Max stops your device entering Doze sleep in the first place. It does the best job of getting notifications from all your apps through on time.

The trade-off is that some devices will show a small alarm icon in the status bar or your lock screen. You will never hear an alarm and whether the icon appears depends entirely on your phone, and many devices never show it at all. It isn't something DozeOff can turn off.

BALANCED MODE

Balanced lets your device sleep normally, then briefly wakes it at an interval you choose. Each wake pulls your phone out of Doze for long enough for pending notifications from every app to come through.

Nothing appears in your status bar or on your lock screen. The trade-off is timing: a notification arriving just after a wake waits for the next one.

Max is the default. Switch to Balanced any time from the home screen.
