About this app

DosiMinder offers the opportunity to record and therefore document your official or company personal dosimeters yourself.
Currently, basic information such as the dosimeter number, the period of wear and any comment can be entered and accessed at any time.

The bar or data matrix code attached to some measuring points on the dosimeter, which usually contains the unique number of the dosimeter, can also be scanned directly via the smartphone camera (successfully tested on OSL, ring and ALD dosimeters from Mirion, TL-Dos from MPA Dortmund).

Other planned features include:
- Record your own notes on the dosimeters (e.g. “Washed in the washing machine at 60 degrees”)
- Reminder to hand it in after the end of the wearing period
- Collection of further data such as dose values ​​after the evaluation
- Connection to ProRadia (radiation protection software from Creados GmbH)
- Integrate and digitize additional data and processes in radiation protection

Currently, all data is only kept on the device; no data is transmitted to Creados GmbH or other bodies. If there are future functions that support a form of transmission or retrieval of data, this will only be activated with explicit consent.

What is a personal dosimeter?
Dosimeters are measuring devices for measuring the radiation dose as part of radiation protection. In contrast to the dose rate meter, which measures the instantaneous dose rate, i.e. the radiation dose per period of time, a dosimeter adds up the dose rate over time.
In Austria, the name can also be used for a dose rate measuring device following the clarification of terms in the calibration regulations.
Dosimeters are usually intended to be worn on the body, possibly on parts of the body that are particularly exposed to radiation (finger ring dosimeters) and are then called personal dosimeters.
