About this app

Creality Scan is a free APP that works with Creality 3D scanners CR-Scan Ferret series and Otter on your smartphone (Wireless Bridge/Scan Bridge for hotspot connection with your phone wirelessly). It is developed by Creality for mobile scanning, which makes it easier to scan large objects or scan outdoors. The built-in USB3.0 of the scanner and Wi-Fi 6 of the wireless bridge provide fast data transmission speed and smooth scanning experience, which greatly increases scanning success rate. Ideal objects to be scanned: Human Face & Body, sculpture, car parts, carvings, etc.

It is recommended to use Creality scan APP and scanner to collect scanned data only, then process step by step on PC for better model quality, it is ideal for reverse engineering, 3D design, modeling, AR & VR, etc.

The Wi-Fi connectivity is iffy, as is every other ability with the otter light, is virtually useless now, it doesn't detect anything even when it's the only item on a black build plate. without moving the device or the item I'm trying to scan, item is both too close, too far away, just right, and nothing detected. now I have an expensive piece of hardware that is worthless to me. never mind the fact that the window software doesn't work on 11, I don't own a Mac, and there is no Linux version.

well, I just received my ferret pro, (bought on Saturday, recieved tuesday)((so shipping and processing was excellent and quick as well as free)) and i downloaded the app, and so far I cant see what most of these people are complaining about!? sure some of the extra features require more ram, but what the eff do you really expect?! if you use the cloud point auto cleanup or whatever its called, OF COARSE ITS GOING TO TAKE A LOT OF COMPUTING POWER! As far as losing tracking issues, just pick up..

The app is unable to handle medium to large scans. As I only use the app for scans where it is impractical to scan to my PC over USB, this makes the app pointless. The app will not even attempt to process point clouds with any reasonable amount of points. It claims to offer the ability to upload scans to your PC for processing, but this rarely works. If you are scanning smaller objects, the app works, but you will get substantially better results and performance just using your PC.
