Sound Meter – decibel meter is a sound meter for your smart phone. Sound Meter is also known as Sound Level Meter (SPL), Decibel meter, db meter, noise meter or Noise detector. Noise meter – decibel meter uses phone microphone to measure environmental noise decibels (db) and show its value in decibel.
Sound Meter or Noise detector is also known as pressure level meter which can be used to measure too noisy sounds and also for sound test. Noise detector is used to measure different noise level, it is the fact that too much loud sound is harmful to human ear, but the problem is how to detect that the sound around is harmful to human ear or not.
Now by using Noise Meter – db meter, you can easily detect sound around you because decibel meter measure environmental noise in db values and categorized the noise into different noise level and detect the noise of exact object.
With the help of noise meter or sound level meter you can also detect whisper of human, actually human whisper is having db value range from 30 to 40 db. So sound measure or Noise detector can measure decibel value from 0 to 100 db and whisper decibel value lies between 30-40 db.

Note:
- Spl meter (sound pressure level) uses phone microphone to measure too noisy sounds. Microphones in most android devices are aligned to human voice. Very loud sounds (over 90 dB) may not be recognized in most device. So please use it as just an auxiliary tools. Sometimes the db value calculated by pressure level meter is not as accurate as an actual Pressure Level Meter, and this is due to some smart phone devices microphone are aligned to human voice.

Was the BEST sound meter. Good precision, best scale of comparable sounds. Best graph of level over time... BUT, now it crashes every single time I attempt to use it. Immediate crash, rendering it worthless. A real shame. Still can't find one as good.

Pretty inaccurate. The sound that is picking up is lower than than what is shown. I played music from my speakers which should be significantly louder than 60db but it says it's at 57db. It could be the microphone on my phone but I am not sure just doesn't work fore

Worked well until I upgraded to Android 11, using Pixel 4XL. I have cleared the Cache and App Data and while the program loads I get asked about microphone use. Its after that selection the app crashes. I open it again and I can get to the settings but the crash happens always at the microphone choice.
