Glenn Fredly started his career when he was the vocalist of Funk Section. In 1995, a year after he graduated from high school in 1994, Funk Section released a beautifully packaged exclusive album. Three years later (1998), Glenn sang solo and launched an album entitled Glenn with 8 songs. In 2000 Glenn was awarded in Malaysia (best Indonesian album) and Singapore (best song chosen by listeners). At the Anugerah Musik Indonesia a year later, Glenn won the best song category and the best male singer in the R&B music category.
With great doubts from the label, Glenn, who is a Christian, has released his third album titled Good Morning, Dunia! (2003). Not unexpectedly many hits that emerged from this album. The hit that rocked Indonesia the most was the song January. The success of this album made Sony Music Indonesia make a repackaged album in 2004, packed with a karaoke VCD bonus and an unplugged live performance.
In 2004, Glenn participated in Erwin Gutawa's album titled Salute to Koes Plus/Brothers. He sang Dunia & Mari-mari on the album.
In 2005, Glenn was offered to make an album as the soundtrack of the new film Cinta Silver. One year later Glenn released another album as a tribute and respect to previous musicians, titled Aku & Wanita. In the same year Glenn released his seventh album with the title Terang. Glenn's newest package is an album with a Christmas nuance because it coincided with Christmas 2006. In 2007 Glenn released his tergress album again. Titled Happy Sunday, this album is claimed to be a vehicle for exuding a new spirit of looking at life globally through music.
