What’s new
AIM uses a foreground service to monitor user presence in real time during secure access sessions. The app sends the credentials/keys to the card reader which then accepts the card swipe from the mobile application. FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE is required to run a foreground service that interacts with connected devices (via Bluetooth), especially on Android 14+.
