Debut is a K-pop idol trainee story and interactive texting game played in your phone's messages, where your choices decide who debuts. You are the new trainee at a small agency. Nine of you, seven spots, twelve months until the line-up is read out in practice room 3. Your trainer keeps a sheet and never says what is on it. The top-ranked trainee is loud, brilliant and texts you at 1am. The one who can actually hear you sing is ranked last. A senior from the fourth floor replies to the moon emoji. Your mum wants a call on Tuesdays.
All five have your number. The fancafe watches the building. The whole game is your phone.
HOW IT PLAYS
- Read the messages as they land, month by month
- Pick every reply. No typing, no timers, no wrong-button deaths
- Every person remembers what you said. Lean on one and it costs you with the rest
- Let the buzz climb and THE FANCAFE posts it for two thousand strangers
WHAT IS IN IT
- Twelve chapters, one per month of training
- Nearly eight hundred messages, all written for this game
- Twelve endings, from Centre to Held Back to Home
- Sixty moments to collect: the messages you will want to screenshot
- Read Their Mind: watch a short ad to see what a reply will do before you send it
- English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese
NO STRINGS
- Free, supported by ads
- No account, no sign-in, nothing to buy
- Plays offline once installed
A story about wanting something in front of people who want it too. The agency, the trainees and the group upstairs are invented.
