Quality gamebook An excellent recreation of one of Dave Morris's classic gamebooks. The only negative is that it occasionally crashes my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, but the app is so much fun that I couldn't deduct a star for that. If you plan to adapt any other Morris books, I'd LOVE to see Heart of Ice. Food for thought!
Got me into storytelling games again What I love about Necklace of Skulls is the art and how vibrant it is. The narrative also paints the world in a way that it feels like you're actually there, and it's exciting to see where your choices lead you, and in hindsight think about all the other options you didn't consider. That said, I thought the storage limit was a bit stingy, especially with the amount of items you find in the way. Also, the game kept on crashing at certain points which just dampened the experience as a whole. Needs fixing!
Crash I actually loved the game at first, the design and storyline was interesting. But sometimes when I choose a certain option, the game kept on crashing and I tried it several times until I gave up and choose another option. For the last one, I only had that 1 option which kept on crashing, hence I couldn't continue the game. I'm pretty upset as I have paid for this.
Fun but obtuse The setting is fun in a sea of fantasy games set in medieval england but a lot of puzzles and so forth are very obtuse. Unless you like dealing with a lot of dead ends and using a walkhrouh, it's going to get frustarting. Trial and error game play is fine for some. The rock paper scissors combat leaves a lot to be desired. Also, I wish you could place book markers so you don't have to replay long segments.
Force closes Choosing certain options cause the game to crash. I'm less than an hour in and I've already encountered this several times on my GS5. Frustrating because the game is very interesting.
ADVENTURE! My kids & I R all big fans of interactive fiction, I've loved the genre since I was a kid in the 70s (yeah, I'm OLD) so I approach them with not a little nostalgia. There are many good examples of 'choose your own adventure' available 4 Android but Cubus' entries R very unique in that they create their own atmosphere 2 a higher degree than most. Definitely worth the $.
- Fixed critical bug that prevented starting a new game due to a missing font.
- Fixed mail rewards crashes (hidden on android).
The Virus is about a fictitious call for help. A whole city belongs to the dead.
