cultYvate AWD is the official companion app for the cultYvate AWD device — the smart irrigation device installed in
paddy fields to enable Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), a proven water-saving technique for rice cultivation.

The app connects directly to your cultYvate device data, so you always know what is happening in your field — even
when you are not there. View your pump status, water levels, irrigation activity and alerts, all in one place.

WHAT IS AWD AND WHY IT MATTERS

Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) is a scientifically validated irrigation practice for paddy. Instead of keeping the
field continuously flooded, water is allowed to drop to a safe level before re-irrigating. Done correctly, AWD can:

• Reduce irrigation water use by 15 to 30 percent
• Lower pumping cost and electricity bills
• Reduce methane emissions from flooded paddy
• Maintain — and often improve — rice yield

The cultYvate AWD device automates the monitoring needed to do AWD reliably. The app puts that information in the
farmer's hand.

field is fitted with a cultYvate device — by cultYvate, a partner organisation, an FPO, a cooperative, or a
