Safe Ospreys is the official safety app of University of North Florida. It is the only app that integrates with UNF’s safety and security systems. UNF Police Department has worked to develop a unique app that provides students, faculty and staff with added safety on the UNF campus.  The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources.

Safe Ospreys features include:

- Mobile Bluelight: Send your location to UNF security in real-time in case of a crisis
 
- Emergency Contacts: Contact the correct services for the UNF area in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern

- Tip Reporting: Multiple options to report a safety/security concern directly to UNF PD.

- Friend Walk: Ask a friend to monitor your location as you walk home.

- Safety notifications: Receive instant notifications and instructions from UNF PD when on-campus emergencies occur.
 
- Campus safety resources: access all important safety resources in one convenient app.

Ratings and reviews

The map for friend walk rarely works. The app kept closing when I started the walk. On the rare occasion the map did work it would tell my friend I was in a different location than I was actually in. Without that feature there's no reason for me to have it so I deleted it. It's a great idea and hope they get it working correctly... it could save lives or a least give some a sense of security.
