Cutout uses on-device AI to identify prominent people, pets, and objects, then separates them from the background. Start with an automatic result, refine the smallest details with simple touch controls, and export a transparent PNG or place your subject into a completely new scene.
AUTOMATIC BACKGROUND REMOVAL
Choose a photo and let Cutout find the foreground. The AI processing happens on your device, so the photo used for background removal is not sent to our servers.
REFINE EVERY EDGE
Use Erase to remove unwanted areas or Keep to restore important details. Adjust the brush size, undo changes, and redo them until the cutout feels right.
CREATE A NEW BACKGROUND
Keep the background transparent, choose a solid color, blur the original scene, or select another photo as the backdrop.
EXPORT CLEAN PNG FILES
Save the finished image to your Pictures/Cutout folder. Transparent backgrounds are preserved in PNG format for stickers, profile photos, product images, presentations, and social posts.
REOPEN RECENT UPLOADS
Cutout keeps up to 24 recent uploads inside the app's private storage so you can quickly return to earlier photos. You can remove individual items whenever you want.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Background-removal processing runs locally with ML Kit. Recent uploads and editing data remain in the app's private storage. An internet connection may be needed for the initial AI model download, optional Google sign-in, and advertising.
