Attempt count grows with each try, and the game presents this as a record of effort, a player with 300 attempts on a single level has invested more than a player with 30, and the count shows it.

Practice mode complements these stats by letting you drill specific sections; arriving at 300 attempts through deliberate practice is a fundamentally different path than 300 attempts of blind repetition.
