"Paiqiu," a traditional Mindong dialect term, is a crucial fishing technique passed down through generations in Matsu. Every August and September, the entire village mobilizes its men, spending over ten consecutive days at sea, driving giant bamboo stakes into the seabed to anchor the nets and lay the foundation for a bountiful harvest next year.
