iBarragem is a free app for monitoring dams and reservoirs in Brazil. Track the country's water situation using the official dataset from the National Water Agency (ANA), with information always updated by readings submitted by the community of local agents.
WHO IT'S FOR
• Residents of cities supplied by reservoirs who want to monitor the level of their dam.
• Rural producers, fishermen, riverside communities, and water managers who depend on the stored volume to plan their activities.
• Students, researchers, and journalists who need a quick and reliable source of data on Brazilian dams.
• Civil defense and technical teams that monitor critical levels during periods of drought or flood.
MAIN FEATURES
• National catalog of dams with more than a thousand reservoirs, based on the official ANA registry.
• Filter by state and city to quickly find the desired dam.
• Complete details of each dam: current level, volume, percentage of filling, daily variation, location on the map, total capacity, and reading history.
• Interactive graphs of level, volume, and percentage over time, to visualize filling or emptying trends.
• Gallery of photos submitted by agents at each reading, to visually monitor the reservoir's situation.
• Weather forecast integrated with the dam's city, useful for correlating rainfall and volume variations.
AGENT AREA
Those who record readings at dams have an exclusive authenticated area where they can:
• Follow dams of interest and receive notifications about them.
• Register new readings, including level, volume, observations, and up to three photos.
• Edit or remove their own readings when necessary.
• Keep the reservoir's history updated for the entire community.
Agent registration requires simple approval and is free.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
iBarragem complies with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD - Law 13.709/2018):
• You can use the application without creating an account to consult public data.
• Location is only requested to show nearby dams and can be denied at any time.
• You can delete your account directly in the application, in Profile, or through the public account deletion page on the official website.
• Your readings and submitted photos remain as a public technical record of water interest, but the link to your identity is removed if you delete your account.
• All communication with the server uses HTTPS and your credentials are never transmitted in plain text.
FREE AND AD-FREE
iBarragem is completely free, does not display ads, does not sell your data, and has no in-app purchases. The project is maintained through free tiered services and the volunteer work of local agents.
DAM DATA (replace current paragraph):
The dam catalog is fed by the public dataset "Registered Dams" from the ANA Open Data Portal (https://dados.ana.gov.br/). Historical series and station data are provided by the ANA's HidroWebService (https://www.ana.gov.br/hidrowebservice/). The National Water Resources Information System is available at https://www.snirh.gov.br/. Level and volume readings are community contributions and may vary in frequency according to each reservoir.
NOTICE
iBarragem is an independent, non-profit project. It has NO affiliation, endorsement, or link with the Brazilian government, the National Water Agency (ANA), or any other governmental body. All governmental data is obtained from official public APIs and open data portals, with attribution to the original sources.
