About this app

Open any bathroom cabinet and you will find a box printed in a language you do not read, an ingredient name nobody recognises, and no leaflet. The questions are always the same four: What is this for? How much do I take? Can I take it with food? What happens if it disagrees with me?

Medication Identifier answers them from a photograph of the box, in about two seconds.

POINT YOUR CAMERA AT THE BOX
The name is read straight off the packaging. No typing, no squinting at small print. Works on a box, a blister strip, or a bottle label. If it is not a medicine, the app says so instead of inventing an answer.

OR JUST TYPE THE NAME
Spell it wrong and it still finds it. "Panadooll" finds paracetamol. Suggestions appear as you type.

AN ANSWER YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ
What it is for. How to take it. Food and drink. What to do if you miss a dose. How to store it. Short sentences, clear headings, one idea per line — written the way a pharmacist would explain it across a counter, not the way a leaflet is printed.

SIDE EFFECTS, SORTED BY HOW URGENT THEY ARE
Three separate lists: the common and usually mild ones, the ones worth calling your doctor about, and the ones that mean stop and get help today. No symptom appears twice with two different urgencies.

FULL ARABIC, NOT A TRANSLATED MENU
The whole interface mirrors right to left, set in proper Arabic type — and the answer itself is in Arabic, not just the headings. Switch language at any time, on any screen, without searching again.

KEEP YOUR MEDICINES, AND YOUR FAMILY'S
Save a medicine and it stays readable with no internet at all. Keep separate lists for separate people — yourself, a parent, a child. If two saved medicines share an active ingredient, the app warns you, because that is exactly how a paracetamol dose gets accidentally doubled.

REMINDERS THAT ACTUALLY GO OFF
Set the times you take something and your phone will tell you, even after a restart.

A PROFESSIONAL VIEW
Pharmacists, pharmacy students and prescribers get a second view of the same medicine: ATC code, pharmacological class, indications, mechanism of action, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, half-life, contraindications, interactions grouped by mechanism, adverse effects grouped by organ system, and what to monitor.

No account. No sign-up. No password. Your saved medicines, the people they belong to and your reminder times never leave your phone — there is no copy on any server. The app asks for three permissions: internet, network state, and the camera. No location, no contacts, no storage access.
