SmartDawn is an application designed to control and manipulate colored lighting systems. It offers multiple modes of interaction: lights can sync to music or microphone input for dynamic audio visualization, users can draw custom patterns by hand or display text messages, and the app even supports generating light displays directly from photos.

BEWARE - App asks for access to audio/music, photos/videos. Maybe audio to sync lights with a song. Why do you need access to my photos and videos? That has nothing to do with Christmas lights. It is claimed under data safety that "No data collected"...and if you choose no to any of the audio, video/photos, it will say that you need to restart and the app gets caught in a loop. It looks like you can't use the app without giving them access to your photos/videos.

App does not connect. I suspect it may have to do with it asked for permission to photos, camera and to RECORD AUDIO and I denied it access. Why would a app for meteor shower lights require access to record audio?!? I was never able to connect to the app. Very suspicious. Lights are very beautiful though, but only using the controller you can't select it to display a single light pattern, it cycles through all of them.

I would not purchase these lights again with this app. The lights work great. The app on the other hand does not. The app has trouble keeping more than one set connected for more than 3 or 4 days. Once connection is lost it will not connect again until the app has been deleted and reloaded. The app will not allow you to select one of the 72 formats to remain as the last format used. You have to select the format you want every day. Not user friendly.
