OpenSlam is a local tennis league app built for players in Sydney who want more than a casual hit. Join organised leagues in your suburb, play competitive matches on your own schedule, and track your progress with the Open Slam Rating system.
How it works:
Pick your skill level — Beginner, Beginner-Intermediate, Intermediate or Advanced. You'll be placed in a division with players at your level.
Find opponents through in-app chat or your division's group chat. Agree on a time and court that works for both of you.
Play your match — best of 2 sets with a championship tiebreak at 1-1. Or play a single set if you both prefer.
Submit your score after the match. Your opponent confirms and the league table updates instantly.
Your Open Slam Rating updates after every match using the Glicko-2 system, the same algorithm used in chess. Beat stronger players to climb faster.
What you get:
- Organised local leagues by suburb with real standings and promotion/relegation

Season structure:
Each season runs 7-8 weeks. Play 6 matches per season — roughly one per week. Top 2 in each division get promoted, bottom 2 get relegated. Stay active and climb through the divisions.
Currently launching in the Lower North Shore area — Lane Cove, Chatswood, St Leonards, Crows Nest, North Sydney, Artarmon, Greenwich and Wollstonecraft. More Sydney suburbs coming soon.
