BioField is a professional, offline tool for collecting ecological and biological data in the field. Designed for researchers, students, and naturalists, it allows you to record structured observations in the field—online or offline—and keeps all your information private on your device.
ORGANIZE YOUR WORK: Group your work into projects with custom data fields tailored to your study. Record sampling events (transects) with continuous, high-precision GPS tracking running in the background.
CAPTURE DETAILED OBSERVATIONS: Record biological information including species/taxa, notes, individual counts, sex, developmental stage, and more. Attach photos from your camera or library to any observation. Each record is automatically tagged with precise GPS coordinates.
MAPS DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD: Clear vector maps with day and night styles that integrate seamlessly with the app. Download map regions for offline use, with accurate size estimates. Visualize your sampling routes and observations on the map, with interactive photo thumbnails.
ANALYSIS AND EXPORT: Built-in analysis tools, including species accumulation curves and population estimates using the mark-recapture method. Export your data as Darwin Core CSV files, coordinate CSV files, or a full BioField file, ready for your desktop workflow.
