Dark Echo is an immersive, premium hidden object mystery game that thrusts players into the heart of a haunted, gnarled woodland shrouded in ancient secrets. Step into the boots of a seasoned detective tasked with tracking down a series of inexplicable disappearances linked to a series of dark occult rituals.

As shadows detach from trees and dark residues cling to the soil, you must rely on your analytical skills and raw instinct to uncover what lies hidden beneath the dark, heavy foliage of the Whispering Woods. The core gameplay revolves around a realistic, highly atmospheric flashlight mechanic that restricts your vision and challenges your perception. Navigating in near-total darkness, players drag their finger or mouse cursor to sweep a circular beam of light across the landscape. The flashlight behaves with high fidelity, casting a soft radial glow, flickering dynamically as if low on power, and illuminating floating dust particles in the beam. Hidden objects—from rusty keys and poisoned vials to ritual daggers—are completely invisible until they are caught in the flashlight's illumination, requiring meticulous scanning and patience.

The investigation spans 5 massive, distinct chapters consisting of 45 challenging levels. Your journey begins at the foggy borders of the Whispering Woods, leading you into the dusty corridors of an Abandoned Cabin, through the murky, mist-covered boardwalks of a stagnant Swamp, around the weathered tombstones of a Forgotten Graveyard, and finally down into the subterranean caverns of a Shadow Ritual. Each level is built with hand-drawn gothic silhouettes blended over a dark, detailed forest backdrop, ensuring that every site feels uniquely spooky and challenging. Beyond the hunt for ordinary items, Dark Echo features a deep, narrative-driven Evidence System.

Each level holds a critical piece of evidence—such as a clawed footprint, a cipher wheel, or a carved bone flute—which unlocks a entry in your Case Notebook. The notebook serves as your interactive detective dossier, displaying your achievements, ranking, and a typewriter-styled journal log. As you discover clues, these journal logs fill out, allowing you to piece together the tragic lore of the victims and the cult of the Shadow Core. Crafted with a premium cinematic aesthetic, the game is designed to run completely offline, featuring custom-integrated typography using the Creepster and Cinzel fonts. The visual design is reinforced with camera lens vignette overlays, red screen flashes during incorrect taps, and drifting green fog layers that bring the menus to life.
