Every incoming ball originates from a visible point on the screen edge and travels in a fixed direction. Reading its entry angle at the moment of appearance tells you where it will cross the screen and, more importantly, whether your current ball position is in its path.

Skilled play involves constantly scanning the edges of the screen for new spawns while maintaining awareness of existing threats. Identifying a newly spawned ball that will cross your current position gives you maximum time to reposition before it arrives.

Contrast this with reactive play, where you wait until a ball is nearly on top of your position before moving. At high ball speeds, reactive play leaves insufficient time for a clean dodge and often results in a panicked drag that moves directly into another incoming ball.
