HOW BLOCKING WORKS

Three blocking types, combine as many as you want:

• By prefix — Block any area code or number pattern (e.g. all 0800 toll-free spam, specific DDD codes)
• By country — Block all calls from a country using its dial code (+1 US, +44 UK, +55 Brazil…)
• Unknown callers — Block anyone not saved in your contacts

Rules use OR logic: a call is blocked the moment any active rule matches.

On Android, Xo runs as a Call Screening Service — calls are intercepted before your phone even rings, even with the app closed in the background. No delay, no missed blocks.

Automatically switch to stricter blocking based on your context:

• Car mode — activates when your phone connects to your car's Bluetooth audio
• Work mode — triggers via a BLE beacon at your workplace
• Custom location — set a pin on the map with a radius; Xo activates the right profile when you arrive

Set a time window for your sleep hours. During that window, only favorites and emergency contacts get through — everyone else is silently blocked.

When Xo detects you've changed region or country, it suggests a temporary whitelist for local numbers — so you receive calls from local businesses while traveling, without weakening your permanent rules.

If a call shows a local area code but originates from a different region, Xo flags it as suspicious in your history. An alert, never an automatic block — no false positives.
