About this app

It is possible to call for help from loved ones in case of a problem, in different circumstances and by several means. SOS Universal can be used in case of aggression, harassment, discomfort, insecurity, or any other uncomfortable situation.

1 - Contact management
You can define the trusted individuals to be alerted from the contacts on the smartphone. These individuals can be prioritised and informed that they may receive an alert message. Each contact can be temporarily deactivated.

2 - Definition of alert content
The alert can be defined by a phone call and the sending of an SMS which may contain (in addition to the message text) the geographical location (link to a GoogleMaps or OpenStreetMap map) as well as the corresponding address. This alert can also trigger an audio recording as well as an audible alarm or the simulation of an incoming phone call.

3 - Alert mode specification
Immediate mode allows the alert to be sent immediately after it is triggered (SOS button on the home screen).
Deferred mode allows, from the moment the alert is triggered, to defer its sending for a specified delay (example: I send an alert in 15 minutes).
Repetitive mode allows, from the moment the alert is triggered, to also defer its sending for a specified delay and repeat it according to a chosen frequency (example: I send an alert in 5 minutes, it will be repeated for 1 hour every 15 minutes).

4 - Application settings
The language of SOS Universal (54 languages are available) and the visual theme (light or dark) can be configured.
You can also make various settings related to triggering the alert (5-second delay in immediate mode, display or not of text on the alert button, possible vibration before sending the alert, and automatic triggering of this alert from an application widget, directly from your smartphone's home screen).
Regarding the choice of sound alarm, you have 6 siren recordings and 4 human scream recordings available.

5 - Alert history
The last 50 alerts sent are historized with all their characteristics (name of the alerted contact, date and time, as well as content and alert mode).

6 - Administration of audio recordings
You can keep up to 200 audio recordings which are stored in your smartphone's download directory. Each recording is timestamped and can be listened to, renamed, or deleted.

7 - Additional tools
To avoid manipulation errors by vulnerable individuals, SOS Universal can be configured by a trusted third party and then locked: only the main alarm trigger button is then usable (as well as the alert cancellation button). Unlocking is very simple (the code is 0000).
You have the ability to quickly write an additional message that will be integrated into the SMS text.
Apart from any alerts, you have three additional utilities that can be configured with an optional trigger delay:
