DEAD CHAT – Private, Direct Messaging

Dead Chat is a private, two-person messaging app designed for direct device-to-device communication over the internet, without relying on third-party chat relay servers.

No account registration. No phone number. No email address. Just create a chat, invite someone and start communicating.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Create a Chat

One person selects Create Chat and becomes the Host. The app generates a unique invitation code.

2. Join a Chat

The second person selects Join Chat and enters the invitation code provided by the Host.

3. Start Communicating

Once connected, both participants enter the same private chat window and can exchange text messages and images.

Each invitation code is single-use and can only be redeemed by one participant.

FEATURES

Direct Device-to-Device Communication

Private Two-Person Conversations

- Single-use invitation codes prevent additional participants from joining the same session.
- Chats can be destroyed at any time by either participant.

Text and Image Messaging

- Send and receive image attachments.
- View images inside the app.
- Images are kept in application-private storage while the chat is active.

Automatic Chat Destruction
- Chats are automatically destroyed after 20 minutes without meaningful activity.
- Sending or receiving a valid message or image resets the inactivity period.
- You can also manually destroy a conversation whenever you choose.

Screenshot Protection
- Protected screens use Android screenshot and screen-recording restrictions to help prevent ordinary screen captures.

No Advertisements
- Enjoy the messaging experience without advertisements.

BUILT AROUND PRIVACY

Dead Chat is designed to minimise the information required to communicate. It does not require users to create conventional accounts or provide personal contact details.

Active chat information is stored in encrypted, application-private storage on the Host device. When a conversation is destroyed, the app attempts to remove its associated local messages, images and session information.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Dead Chat relies on direct internet connectivity. Some networks, firewalls, carrier restrictions or NAT configurations may prevent devices from connecting.

When a participant is offline, immediate delivery of a chat destruction instruction to that device cannot be guaranteed. Cleanup is subject to the device's availability and Android operating-system limitations.

Screenshot restrictions cannot prevent external cameras or every possible recording method.

Dead Chat is designed for temporary, private communication between two people.
