About this app

DeepBlunder — your AI chess coach.

Improve your chess by learning from your own games. DeepBlunder analyses every move with Stockfish 18 and gives you clear, personalised coaching from an AI tutor — so you understand WHY a move was wrong, not just what the engine recommends.

HOW IT WORKS

• Import a game. Paste a PGN, or connect a Chess.com account to pull your recent games.
• Get instant analysis. Stockfish 18 runs locally in your browser and evaluates every move, classifying it as best, good, inaccuracy, mistake, or blunder.
• Read the coaching. For each significant mistake, an AI coach explains the tactical or positional idea you missed, names the better move, and tells you what to look for next time.
• Ask follow-up questions. Chat with the coach about any move or position — "why is this hanging?", "what's the plan from here?" — and get an engine-grounded answer.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

• Tactical-fact grounding. The AI coach can only invoke chess motifs the
analysis actually detected — no hallucinated forks or fake pins. Every claim is verified against the position.

• Rating-aware coaching. Beginners get concrete piece-level explanations; advanced players get precise terminology. Calibrated to your Elo when known.

• Strategic plans. Tap "What's the plan from here?" on any position for a Stockfish-grounded plan with key move, variations, and what to watch for.

• PDF reports. Export annotated games as PDF (Pro feature) to study offline or share with a coach.

• Privacy-first. No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling your data. Your games are yours.

WHO IT'S FOR

Beginners through tournament players, roughly 600–2000+ Elo. Whether you're reviewing a weekend blitz game or studying a tournament loss, DeepBlunder explains the moments that mattered in plain language.

AI TRANSPARENCY

Chess coaching text is generated by an AI language model . Engine analysis is done locally by Stockfish 18, an open-source chess engine. AI output is constrained to a structured coaching format and verified against detected chess facts — but no AI coach is perfect, so treat the tutoring as one input alongside your own thinking.

What’s new

• Coaching now knows whose game it is — games you're just analyzing are coached in the third person and stay out of your progress history.
• Pick which side you played when an imported game doesn't match your handle.
• Faster analysis that keeps running in the background, with auto-retry when the server is busy.
• Sharper coaching: real opening book, always names the better move, spots self-pins, and clearer move order.
