Fluent CW is a Morse code trainer for ham radio operators who want head copy: reading CW in your head, not on paper. Learn Morse code the way CW Academy and the Long Island CW Club teach it: Koch method, Farnsworth timing, and every character sent at 20 WPM from the very first lesson.
WHY HEAD COPY
Most Morse code apps teach you to write each letter down as it arrives. That habit is exactly what stops operators at 13 to 15 WPM. Fluent CW never writes the code for you. You hear a character, you recognise it, you tap it. That is head copy: instant character recognition (ICR), the skill that turns Morse code from decoding into a language you follow at conversation speed.
LEARN MORSE CODE WITH THE KOCH METHOD
• Start with two characters. Add one each time you reach 90% on the newest.
• Farnsworth timing: every character is sent at full speed, with extra space between characters while you learn. You are never taught a slow character you have to unlearn later.
• PARIS-standard timing throughout, checked against the ARRL/QEX Farnsworth reference.
• Character speed, effective speed, sidetone pitch (400 to 1000 Hz) and keying envelope (2 to 12 ms rise) are all adjustable. No key clicks.
DIAGNOSTICS THAT SHOW WHAT YOU ACTUALLY HEAR
Other CW trainers tell you a character is weak. Fluent CW records what you reached for instead: that you heard B as D, S as H, U as V. Every drill is weighted toward the exact discriminations you keep missing, so your practice time goes where it is needed. The dashboard shows per-character accuracy, your strongest confusions in both directions, and how quickly you recognised each character in the last session. Head copy gets faster when you drill the right pairs, not just more characters.
