Eating chay can be lonely in a way that is hard to explain. Every meal out becomes a negotiation about where to go. You explain nhi trai for the third time. They say they do not mind, and then they order for you.
Deerdate introduces you to one other person who eats chay, and you talk. Some people find a friend. Some people find more than a friend. Both are the point.
Matched on how you practise, not at random
When you join you say how you eat chay — nhi trai, thap trai, chay truong, or still working it out. Deerdate uses that to pair you with someone who fits what you asked for: someone further along if you want guidance, someone at your stage if you want company, or someone starting out if you want to help. Both people's preferences have to be satisfied. You are never handed a beginner just because they were next in the queue.
One person, not a deck of cards
There is no swiping, no timeline, and no likes. You get one person and somewhere to talk to them. Nobody is queued behind them while you decide.
Voice first, not photos first
You are not a grid of pictures here. You get an illustrated avatar and a voice, and you find out whether you like talking to someone before you find out what they look like. If you want to meet, that is between the two of you.
The calendar you already keep
Deerdate knows where today sits in the lunar month, so you can see when the 1st and the 15th are coming. There are no streaks and no scores. The app tells you what day it is and then gets out of the way.
Tables, when a conversation is worth more voices
A conversation can open into a small voice table — up to eight people, talking. Nobody walks into an empty room: a table starts with the two people who opened it.
Built to be safe
Report anyone in one tap, from anywhere in the app. Blocking works both ways and takes effect immediately. Every report is looked at within 24 hours. We run no background checks and we verify nobody's identity. The terms say that plainly rather than burying it.
Built to be private
You are pseudonymous. No real name, no photo, no location, no contacts. No advertising trackers and no third-party analytics — none. Voice is live only and is not recorded. You can export everything Deerdate holds about you, or delete your account, from inside the app.
