About this app

PadForge turns your phone into an MPC-style drum pad sampler — built hand-in-hand with the Akai MPD218 USB MIDI pad controller.

Tap out beats on a responsive 4x4 pad grid across three banks, shape them with six knobs, and capture the moment with a one-switch looper (record, play, and — with Pro — overdub and undo). An unlimited recorder catches every take.

• 16 drum pads, 3 banks — real finger-drumming feel
• One-switch looper — loop, and with Pro overdub and undo
• Recorder — capture takes (Pro removes the free time limit)
• Built-in sample kits — Vintage, Modern Pop, Lo-Fi (100% royalty-free)
• Bring your own samples
• Plug in your Akai MPD218 over USB and play — no other pad app is built around it

Free forever: the full sampler, all three kits, the first bank, and a basic looper and recorder. PadForge Pro (one-time $4.99, no subscription) unlocks all three banks, the advanced looper (overdub, undo, quantize), unlimited recording, and themes.
