Inspect a room with several phone-based privacy tools using LensSweep.
LensSweep helps you review nearby devices and visual or sensor signals that may deserve closer manual inspection. It can support a privacy check, but it cannot confirm that a hidden camera is present or guarantee that a room is free of surveillance.
LOCAL NETWORK DEVICE REVIEW
Review devices reachable on the same local network when your phone, permissions, and network configuration allow it.
• View available device names, addresses, or manufacturer references
• Mark devices you recognize
• Review unknown devices manually
• Repeat a scan after disconnecting your own devices for comparison
Device information can be incomplete or generic. A network device is not automatically a camera, and a hidden camera may be offline, connected to another network, isolated by the router, wired, or using cellular service.
BLUETOOTH DEVICE REVIEW
Scan for discoverable nearby Bluetooth devices and review available names or signal information.
Common headphones, watches, speakers, computers, and other accessories may appear in the results. Many devices do not remain discoverable. A Bluetooth result does not prove that a device is used for surveillance, and an empty result does not confirm that the area is clear.
INFRARED AND LENS INSPECTION
Use the camera view to look for unusual bright reflections or possible infrared light sources, especially in low-light conditions.
Phone-camera sensitivity varies by model. Some cameras filter most near-infrared light, while remote controls and other infrared emitters may also appear as bright points. Hidden cameras without active infrared lighting may not appear.
MAGNETIC-FIELD CHECK
Use the phone’s magnetometer, when available, to review changes in the surrounding magnetic field.
Magnets, speakers, wiring, appliances, electronics, and ferromagnetic objects can affect the reading. This tool does not identify a camera and is not a professional metal detector. Some phones do not include a magnetometer.
MANUAL INSPECTION GUIDE
Use the available tips to inspect unfamiliar objects, openings, chargers, clocks, detectors, decorations, and other items that face private areas. Check the whole object, look for small openings or unexpected wiring, and compare anything suspicious with the room’s normal equipment.
HOW TO USE
1. Allow only the permissions required for the tool you choose.
2. Connect to a local network only when you are authorized to inspect it.
3. Review Wi-Fi or Bluetooth results and identify your own devices first.
4. Inspect possible reflections or infrared sources from several angles.
5. Use magnetic readings only as a reason for closer manual inspection.
6. Repeat checks and compare results rather than relying on one signal.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
LensSweep provides indicators and reference tools only. Results can include false positives and false negatives because of phone hardware, permissions, network settings, device visibility, room conditions, and the type of equipment being checked.
The app cannot automatically locate every hidden camera, classify every nearby device, see through surfaces, or guarantee privacy. Do not label a person or property as unsafe based only on an app result.
If you have a serious concern about unlawful surveillance, preserve relevant information and contact the property manager, a qualified security professional, or the appropriate local authority.
Inspect nearby devices, possible IR light sources and magnetic-field changes.
