Detrumpez Vous! is an application that allows you to scan the barcodes of your products, primarily food items, to discover whether the company's capital comes from the United States. It gives you the means to know who you are giving your money to.

The app uses open data from the open source projects Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Pet Food Facts, and Open Product Facts.

Very good overall. While this app is made to avoid USA products, I have also been using it generally to buy more locally (so mainly French) and it has helped massively. My only gripe is when an item is not on the database, I have issues trying to input the information to add it to the list, but it's not the end of the world because many others are working on adding to the database. Would recommend!

It worked pretty well up to now. The app is best with multinational brands, though, as may be expected.

useless, scans then asks for product name, company. then it wants a photo but doesn't accept the photo it takes and says not enough info. I thought barcodes were supposed to be unique with all the info? Nice idea. Pity it doesn't work
